Applying And Diffusing Essential Oils

Not only are different essential oils good for various ailments, the way to apply or diffuse can vary according to the ailment, as well. None of them are set in stone and you may find you have your favorite ways to use the oils, depending on what you’re using them for.

A couple of reminders: Do a skin test before applying topically to make sure a particular oil does not cause irritation. Vitality Extracts blends are already diluted with carrier oil. If you choose an oil that’s not diluted, mix with carrier oil.

STRESS AND ANXIETY

Recommended essential oils:

Ways to use:

  • Apply the roll on to pressure points such as inside the wrists, the temples, bottoms of your feet, and behind the ears
  • Make a stress balloon and squeeze when you’re feeling anxious and uptight (see post on making a DIY Stress Kit)

ENERGY

Recommended essential oils:

Energy Blend in roll on and drops, Align Blend

Ways to use:

  • Apply the roll on to pressure points such as inside the wrists, the temples, bottoms of your feet, and behind the ears
  • Put a few drops in a car diffuser
  • Apply to a diffuser bracelet

SLEEP

Recommended essential oils:

Sweet Dreams BlendCalm Blend, Lavender

Ways to use:

  • Rub the oil onto the bottoms of your feet
  • Mix with water in a spray bottle and spray your pillow case
  • Add a few drops to a warm bath

HEADACHES

Recommended essential oils:

Migraine Care in drops and roll on, Peppermint, Lavender, Immunity Boost Blend, Deep Muscle Blend in drops or roll on, Rosemary

Ways to use:

  • The roll on is nice for headaches—simply apply to temples
  • Apply a few drops to a bracelet diffuser

DEPRESSION

Balance Blend, Calm Blend, Abundance Blend

Ways to use:
